Chalkfull (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a platform that enables teachers to manage and share classroom content. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and our Privacy Policy.

2. Google Integration

Our service integrates with Google Classroom to provide content management and sharing capabilities. When you authorize Chalkfull, we request access to:

  • View your Google Classroom courses (read-only access) - Required to display your list of courses
  • View your class rosters (read-only access) - Required to identify teachers associated with each course
  • Manage course materials and topics - Required to enable sharing and importing of coursework materials
  • View and manage your coursework - Required to access and manage course assignments
  • Send emails via Gmail - Required to send course sharing invitations
  • View profile photos - Required to display teacher profile photos

We only use these permissions to enable you to organize, share, and export classroom-related content. We request the minimum necessary permissions, with read-only access where possible. We do not use or store your data for any purpose unrelated to providing our service.

3. Data Usage and Privacy

We take your privacy seriously and handle your data responsibly:

  • We only access and store the minimum data necessary to enable our core features.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties outside those essential to provide our services.
  • We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage data and analytics for improving Chalkfull; no personal information is sold or shared.
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
  • We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide our service, unless otherwise required by law.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of Chalkfull, you agree to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate authorization to access and share classroom content.
  • Respect student privacy and educational institution policies.
  • Not misuse or attempt to abuse our service.

5. Service Limitations

Our service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free access to the service.
  • Compatibility with all Google Classroom or Drive features.
  • Fitness for any particular purpose.

We may update these Terms occasionally to reflect changes in our service or compliance obligations. When we make material changes, we will notify you and obtain consent if required by law.
